Ironton Announces New Rye Whiskey

Ironton Distillery & Crafthouse is pleased to announce the release of our second in a trio of straight whiskeys. Colorado Straight Rye Whiskey will release to the public on Saturday, July 2nd.

A straight whiskey is defined as a whiskey that has been aged for two years or more in charred oak barrels. This whiskey is a marriage of 4 barrels, that have been aging for 2.5 - 3 years.

The addition of barley brings a slight fruitiness to balance the traditional rye spice, making every sip complex and approachable. This Straight Rye Grain Whiskey features a blend of Colorado-grown pale and chocolate rye malts custom roasted to perfection.

Bottles of Batch #1’s limited release of Colorado Straight Rye Whiskey are available to pre-order now through irontondistillery.com. Pre-ordered bottles will be signed by Ironton’s head distiller, Laura Walters. After July 2nd, bottles of the new whiskey can be purchased at Ironton’s RiNo Tasting Room or in select retail locations around the state of Colorado.

This is the second in our trio of straight whiskey releases for 2022. Our Colorado Straight Bourbon Whiskey will be releasing in August and our American Straight Malt Whiskey released in April.

Colorado Straight Rye Whiskey releases with an Americana celebration at “Red, Rye, and Blue” on Saturday, July 2nd from 12 to 10 pm.
